ASUNM Lobo Spirit Events

ASUNM Lobo Spirit hosts several traditional spontaneous events throughout the year.  Below is a list and description of the events we could use your help with as a volunteer!

Homecoming

Homecoming is UNM's traditional celebration during the fall to celebrate UNM and the return of Alumni.  Several student events will take place throughout the week.  A King and Queen election is held on Wednesday, Spirit Competitions and a Dance are just some of the fun that happens during the week. Interested in running for Homecoming Court?

Red Rally

Red Rally is the annual bonfire and pep rally for the football game versus NMSU.  It happens the Thursday before the game at 8:00 pm on Johnson Field.  It includes the construction of of 25 foot tall Aggie, that is put on a stake and burned to the ground!  We will have several build parties that we will need your help with.  The nights activities include a football team pep rally, UNM Spirit Squads, UNM Marching Band, Craziest Lobo Competition and a DJ Dance Party.

Lobo Day

The annual celebration of UNM's birthday takes place around February 28th in the SUB Atrium.  It includes birthday cake and the taking of the Lobo Day photo that hangs by Chick-fil-a in the SUB all year long.

UNM Sports / Mountain West Basketball / NCAA Tournament Watch Parties

What better way to support your favorite UNM teams on the road then going to a television watch party in the SUB with hundreds of fellow students?  We project the games on one of the biggest screens in Albuquerque and usually have free food too!  We usually show soccer games, tournament selection shows, basketball games and more!

Red Fridays

Show your support for UNM by wearing red or Lobo gear each Friday.  We usually table in the SUB atrium and reward people who have taken the time to celebrate Red Fridays.

For a current calendar of events, check out the home page schedule.
